Mahvash Hassan, facilitates collaborative multi-sector initiatives to build equitable and engaged communities.  Her projects include: developing resources, training local governments and providing technical assistance on inclusive community engagement; research on demographic changes and the development and management of a Muslim civic engagement collaborative for Bay Area community foundations.  Her meeting design and facilitation experience includes large-scale public engagement workshops and dialogues on race and ethnicity.  Mahvash is chair of the Board of Directors for Welcoming America, an executive board member for the Piedmont Appreciating Diversity Committee and a former board member for Association of Dispute Resolution Northern California and the Piedmont Education Foundation.  Mahvash holds a M.P.A. from Columbia University and a B.A. in Political Science from Bates College.
