Cross-Cultural, Career & Language Training
Founder & Owner
Greater Pittsburgh Area
After my arrival in the United States as a young adult, and while assimilating into the new society and tackling the responsibilities of a growing young family, I earned an Associate degree in Civil Engineering Technology, a bachelor’s degree in Technology Education, and a master’s degree in Education graduating with highest honors. I also obtained two K-12 Pennsylvania teaching certificates in Technology Education and Arabic. Always believing in my motto: "Different Can Also Be Very Beautiful," I strive to lead by example. My excellent academic performance and outstanding service activities to students and professional communities helped me embark on an inspiring career as a faculty member at both of my alma maters, teaching Engineering and Arabic at Community College of Allegheny County (CCAC) and Arabic at California University of Pennsylvania (Cal U). I taught at other higher education institutions in the greater Pittsburgh area such as Duquesne University, Chatham University and the University of Pittsburgh. I served as the Academic Program Coordinator for the B.A. in Arabic program at California University of Pennsylvanian, a program I designed and implemented for the university. While leading the development of the Arabic program, I also served as a point of contact, advised students, served on university-wide committees, and provided service to the Cal U community. A lifelong learner, I am currently completing my Doctoral studies in Instructional Technology and Leadership at Duquesne University, while running my small business: Cross-Cultural, Career and Language Training, with a mission to promote cross-cultural tolerance & competency. Working extensively with immigrant and refugee populations around Pittsburgh and beyond, I witnessed the telling of so many stories. As an advocate, my work helped me formulate a new vision and a clear understanding of the real need to tell these stories. It also inspired me to place education as a top priority to both the assimilating population of immigrants and refugees as well as the receiving society. As an immigrant, an educator, an advocate, a mother, and a community member, I find my advocacy work to be very important and an outlet for me to share with the world my local, national, and international views. My areas of expertise and education form a wide umbrella to employ many of my skills in various settings. I would love to see if we can work together and if I can be of any help to you to support your research, your mission and, your vision.
